Project Pearl: Pooch Glamor Shots

The idea of "Project Pearl” was formed after Melissa Ball & Fowler Ruffin met a wonderful Forsyth County shelter dog, Pearl. Trying to figure out a new way to help their local shelter, they decided to highlight some of the great animals with Project Pearl’s “lend a lens” program. With the help of local professional photographers and volunteers, Project Pearl meets weekly at the shelter. FCAC staff help identify animals that have been at the shelter the longest and the animals get re-photographed by the professionals and reposted.

"Brown Sugar" (adopted)
Animals listed on Project Pearl's Facebook Page are available  for adoption through Forsyth County Animal Control. Available animals can be viewed at Forsyth County Animal Control's web page:

Please contact the shelter at (336) 703-3647 for more information about any of the animals listed or visit them at 5570 Sturmer Park Circle, Winston-Salem 27105. Volunteers and ideas are always welcome! For more information, please email:
