How Does Your Garden Grow? Seed Swap!

Radishes from the Farmers' Market
at Dixie Classic Fairgrounds-Saturdays

The Annual Seed Swap
presented by
Slow Food Piedmont &
Old Salem Museum & Gardens
Saturday, January 14, 2012
10:00 AM
Single Brothers’ Workshop
10 W. Academy Street

First time growers, experienced gardeners and all who are interested are invited to come and swap seeds, handy tips, and bits of garden wisdom.

There will be a pot-luck lunch; participants are asked to bring something to share, perhaps from your seed to table. Beverages will be provided.

Traditionally, seed saving was a part of every growing season. However, in recent decades, food varieties extinction in America has accelerated so that an estimated 90% of our historic vegetable and fruit varieties are now gone. There has never been a more important time to celebrate, save and exchange seed!

This event is FREE and open to the public. Please pre-register for this event by calling (336) 721-7384 or emailing info@oldsalem.org. In the event of snow, the Seed Swap will be rescheduled for Saturday, January 28.
