Oh, Yes It's Friday Night: Gallery Hop & Outdoor Movie!

First Friday Gallery Hop (photo taken in June, I think.)
It's First Friday folks! Every first Friday of the non-winter months, the Downtown Arts District Association (DADA) hosts the First Friday Gallery Hop, where the streets are closed off around Trade so people and their kids and pets can roam the streets, draw on them with chalk, stop to enjoy street musicians and peruse all the fine offerings of the Arts District Galleries.

This first Friday is even more exciting, as it is the beginning of the FREE outdoor film series, Movies at the Greenspot, returning for a third year. Tonight's feature is Apollo 13, honoring our heroes and the recent and final shuttle launch. The film will begin at dusk at “the Greenspot” lawn space, located at the corner of 6th & Liberty Streets.

Taking advantage of the cooler weather this year, the series will continue during the first four Sunday evenings in October (October 2, 9, 16 & 23). What movies are playing? You get to choose! But, first you have to "Like" the Movies at the Greenspot Facebook page to see what you are voting for and get updates. Bring your lawn chair, and BYOB (blanket, that is - NOT beer, as wine and beer are availabe for purchase along with refreshments), and be sure to bring an FM radio so you can tune in to the movie sound. Please don't bring food.

Rain policy: The organizers will call it by 6pm the evening of the movie event, so be sure to check their Facebook page!
