Homeward Bound

My kids spent the night at my parents last night and my dad took them fishing at the pond out back. With their tiny can of corn niblets for the fish to nibble on and their red hot dogs, they caught small mouth bass with my dad, just like my sister and I used to.

It thrills me to have a happy shared childhood memory with my kids.

The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place    where we can go as we are and not be questioned.

Local Etsy that's all about home is up on your left. For me, that's Surry County, North Carolina, inspiration for "Mayberry" and a runner up in USA Today's "Friendliest Town" ranking of 2011. Thank you for visiting Mount Airy and for supporting local artists!
