Wool Sculptor Laura C. Frazier at Cobblestone Farmers Market

On our weekly visit to Cobblestone Farmer's Market in Downtown Winston-Salem, my kids go straight to the tent of Laura C. Frazier of Farm Girl Arts in Kernersville. Laura creates darling wool sculptures out of needle-felted wool. They are very realistic (sometimes commissioned) animal portraits.

We watched Laura work on this custom dog - He looks just like his photo!

Check out this cutie!

“This is a portrait of a special Jacob Sheep Lamb, Elise. This sculpture was created out of 100% homegrown wool using the needle felting technique. The core and basic shape were sculpted from Suffolk wool from my father-in-law’s flock. The wool for the exterior details and coloring was provided by my Jacob Sheep ram, Jericho. The process took around 10 or so hours. She is 4″ tall and 4.5″ long.

Visit Laura at Cobblestone Farmers Market Tuesdays 10-1,
Reynolda Village Farmers Market Fridays 9-1
or at
FARM GIRL ARTS.
