Music in the Blue Ridge Mountains

I have visited many of the towns and music festivals mentioned in this New York Times article and it inspires me to visit again to hear the fiddle, to feel the rumble of the floor made by dozens of flat-footers, and to take in all the green hills.
Through the farmland, pastures and one-light towns along Virginia’s Crooked Road, there is a single, unifying sound: old-time, foot-tapping homegrown music.

  1. Great roundup of music in the region! Don't forget our own W-S bluegrass jam, every Wednesday night at Old Winston Social Club. And High Rock Outfitters in Lexington has one on Tuesday nights.
