Honduras Coffee Co. - Stuart, VA

I caught Owner, Dale Firebaugh during a coffee tasting.
Nestled on Main Street of the cozy downtown of Stuart, Virgina, is a gem of a coffee roaster, Honduras Coffee Company. Owner, Dale Firebaugh was introduced to the coffee business when his daughter married a coffee farmer from Honduras.

"Awesome" Chicken Salad Sandwich on grilled ciabatta bread.
Along with my custom "Jamaican Me Crazy" con leche, I ordered their  "most popular" sandwich, as noted on the board: "Awesome Chicken Salad"- homemade chicken salad with celery, pecans and grapes on grilled ciabatta bread. The sandwich definitely lived up to it's hype.  It was so good I'd eat it out of the trash can.

The coffee shop hosts monthly events, such as the upcoming
Emily Dickinson Poetry Slam on Friday, March 25, 2011, sponsored by Reynolds Homestead (birthplace and boyhood home of R.J. Reynolds) and Open Mic Night on Friday, April 1st.

Besides the cozy coffee shop, Honduras Coffee Company also sells their coffee wholesale across the country. Area cafes and shops include Sweeties of Winston-Salem, Mayberry Coffe Co.; Foothills Juice & Java and Coffee Tea & Me, both in King, NC.

Their mission statement:
Our mission is to provide a superior coffee while contributing to the quality of life of the local people and to conserve the environment for future generations.
